After an exuberant June & July drinking and eating whatever I want, whenever I want, I've decided to call on South Beach for help to knock of some excess poundage. In order to save money, I am using my *used* copy of the book rather than join online. Last night, instead of working on my other, real blog, I made a shopping list. Which I forgot to print. And therefore didn't have at the store today. But I was able to have a South Beach smart lunch at Mon Ami Gabi--the spinach/salmon salad--when I met my fun writer friend, Cathy. Why South Beach you ask? Well, I was just in Buck Fall in PA and met a man who just lost 52 pounds on the diet. But now I'm starving and had the smallest piece of bread --BAD-- with my afternoon string cheese. Wrong day to pick up Diana Kennedy's FROM MY MEXICAN KITCHEN and Rick Bayless' MEXICAN EVERYDAY, two cookbooks I had on hold at the library inspired by my wonderful trip to San Miguel, where I ate myself silly anytime Silvia made anything to eat at our villa. Here are some pictures from that amazing trip:
